It’s no secret that as a real estate agent you should have a strong presence. Can this really be created by focusing on your personal passions? Think about it: whatever you have a strong interest in is where you can create your business “niche.” For example, if you are dedicated to preserving the environment you can become known as an Eco or Green Agent. If you love sports you can focus on selling in golf communities or highly amenitized condos or subdivisions.
Picking your target niche will then help you create an image. As an environmentally conscious agent your business cards, fliers and pamphlets might contain background images of plants, trees or earth tones. Be consistent with your images, consistency is key.
With your target audience and new image, you can begin promoting yourself as a brand, both in print and online.
Networking
Event networking is an excellent way to meet people and gain contacts. Attend as many events as possible that are related to your brand as a real estate agent. Schedule golf games, sports events, or environmental clean-up efforts, or volunteer your time at a local nonprofit agency to meet new people and tell them what you do. By spending time with people who have similar passions, you have a greater chance of being remembered.
Another way to stay top of mind in your niche is to choose one geographic location that you would like to have clients in to focus your direct mail efforts. Direct mailings should be every 30 to 45 days to be effective.
