13 Aug What Do Visitors Value Most in a Website?

Frustrated Business ManWhen it comes to your website, you’ve been told over and over again that content is king, and keeping it fresh is the way to keep your customers and clients happy. While that is always a good rule to follow, the latest research on the ever-changing digital landscape suggests that it may not be THE most important thing anymore.

According to MarketingProfs and Limelight Networks, 52% of polled consumers ranked high performance as the quality they most value in a website. Examples of high performance are pages that load quickly and streaming with no buffering.

In fact, 59% of respondents say they will wait no more than five seconds for a webpage to load before becoming frustrated and leaving the site, and 37% say they will leave and buy a product from a competitor if a website is slow.

What about mobile?

It’s not surprising that 50% of respondents say they use either a smartphone or a tablet to access websites. Of those, 40% expect websites to be equally fast to load on mobile and desktop. Still think having a mobile-friendly site is a waste of your time and resources? Think again!
