02 Feb Should Your Emails Be Optimized for Social Media?

With the enormous power and popularity of social media continually on the rise, many people have abandoned email marketing as part of their digital strategies. We disagree – you still need emails, but it’s time to reassess how you integrate them into your social media planning.

Email marketing is extremely effective for lead generation, but it’s only as good as the size of your list. When you utilize social media, your reach is equal to your followers, likers, and subscribers… but also to THEIR connections when they consume and share your content.

If you want to leverage that reach, you must optimize your email content to include easy sharing.

Hubspot recommends you take a look at the following:

Your customers are talking about you online, whether or not you are a part of the conversation. So first you must figure out which sites they use the most, and make sure you have profiles on these sites under your company name.

The people already subscribing to your emails are great candidates for following your social media pages, so start by adding links in your emails that make it easy for your audience to follow or subscribe. You should also add “share” buttons so it is easy for your readers to share your content with their own networks across these social media sites.

When you take these extra steps, you are bound to experience an increase in mentions on social media, an increase in your followers, likers and subscribers, and an obvious jump in traffic on your website due to your new social “buzz.”
